

ABOUT THE BUSINESS AWARDS
The Leeton Business Awards is the premier business chamber event of the calendar, celebrating our local community business leaders and highlighting their determination, resilience and community spirit.
This year we have a total of 15 awards. Eleven award categories are aligned to the Business NSW Regional Awards, four local awards and 1 non nominated award.
The Business NSW aligned award categories connect our local winners to be a finalist in the Murray Riverina Regional Awards.
Objectives of the 2025 Leeton Business Awards
• To define and award who the most outstanding businesses in Leeton are
• To encourage businesses aspiration for excellence
• To reward outstanding contributions to the community by business leaders
• To promote Leeton and the businesses that make it thrive.

The Local Business Awards program is a 16 week campaign aligned with NSW Business Chamber and is completed in four stages.
Nominations – Businesses will be nominated by your customers or nominate your self for the appropriate award category or categories for your business. Nominations close 19th May. You can nominate by filling out this FORM.
Submissions – Once nominated answer a series of question allocated by NSW Business Chamber if an NSW aligned award or from Leeton Business Chamber if a local award and await to confirmation as a finalist. Join the submission workshop on the 15th May for more information here.
Judging – Leeton Business Chamber invites external judges from a range of different industries and professions to read the submissions of categories in their field and decided the winner for each category.
Gala Awards Dinner – With details being finalised, the Gala Awards Dinner will be held on the 9th August 2025 at the Roxy Community Theatre. More details to come.
2025 AWARD CATEGORIES

Excellence in Small Business
The Excellence in Small Business Award recognises a business that has effectively driven growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies implemented to achieve business success and/or resilience.

Outstanding Community Organisation
The Outstanding Community Organisation Award recognises an organisation that works to improve the social, cultural, or environmental wellbeing of the community.

Excellence in Innovation
The Excellence in Innovation Award recognises a business that has shown innovation and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies implemented to achieve business success and/or resilience.

Outstanding Employee
The Outstanding Employee Award recognises an inspirational employee who has demonstrated a passion for their role and a commitment to their workplace and the community.

Employer of Choice
The Employer of Choice Award, recognises a business that has implemented strategies and initiatives to create a stimulating and supportive workplace environment and to deliver opportunities for business growth and success.
Excellence in Micro Business
The Excellence in Micro Business Award recognises a business that has effectively driven growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies implemented to achieve business success and/or resilience.

Outstanding New Business
The Outstanding Start-up Award recognises a start-up business that has effectively driven growth and is able to demonstrate the potential to achieve future success.
Business of the Year
The Business of the Year Award is the pinnacle of excellence, recognising the outstanding achievement of a business that has excelled across all categories. This prestigious award is determined from the winners of all business categories, celebrating the best of the best for their exceptional contributions to the community, innovative practices, and exemplary employee and customer experience.

Excellence in Large Business
The Excellence in Large Business Award recognises a business that has effectively driven growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies implemented to achieve business success and/or resilience.
Outstanding Young Business Leader
The Outstanding Young Business Leader Award recognises an inspirational business leader aged 35 or under who has demonstrated a commitment to their workplace, industry, and the community through leadership.

Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion
This Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award recognises businesses that address the needs of a diverse community, including seniors, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and people with disability. An inclusive business facilitates the needs of all its employees and customers.
Outstanding Business Leader
The Outstanding Business Leader Award recognises an inspirational business leader aged 36 years or over who has demonstrated a commitment to their workplace, industry, and the community through leadership, whilst providing mentorship to others.

Leeton Apprentice / Trainee of the Year
This Award recognises an apprentice or trainee displaying an outstanding work ethic and attitude, and positively contributing to the practices in their business’s situation.

Top Tradie Trophy
The Top Tradie Trophy recognises a local tradesperson that demonstrates the pride in workmanship and provides an exceptional level of customer service. Behind the scenes, the Top Tradie possess exceptional business acumen with time management skills, new business acquisition strategies and providing upskilling development within the team.

Outstanding Primary Producer
The “Outstanding Primary Producer” award is a prestigious accolade designed to honour excellence in the agricultural sector. This award recognises farmers, ranchers, and other primary producers who demonstrate exceptional innovation, sustainability, and productivity in their practices. The recipients are celebrated for their contributions to the industry and their commitment to responsible farming techniques that ensure the long-term health of the environment. Winning this award not only highlights a producer’s dedication to quality and efficiency but also sets a benchmark for others in the sector, encouraging a continuous pursuit of excellence and sustainability

Retailer of the Year
The Retailer of the Year will demonstrate pride of business and place in the community. An eye catching shopfront that is immaculately kept, great presentation of self and staff and excellent customer service through in store and online mediums. The retailer of the year will also show innovation in the way they attract and retain customers and keep the locals looking at Leeton first for all their needs.

Roll of Honour
Non Nominated Category
Since 2007, The Irrigator’s Roll of Honour award recognises contribution to the business and the community. It is the paper’s way of acknowledging the importance of business to the community, as well as the people who own and operate them.
Similar to a lifetime achievement award, The Irrigator Roll of Honour is not restricted to the past 12 months. It is not “judged”, but the recipient is selected because they exhibit what we see as a commitment to bettering not only their own business, but the business community in Leeton, as well as the town and shire as a whole.
